Habitat & Site Selection:

Floodplains and along the banks of rivers. Responds well to cutting back after flowering each year. Not drought resistant.

Habit:

Tufted perennial grass to 1.2m high. Inflorescence is a spreading panicle, with loosely arranged, green or purplish spikelets, with awns 10-20mm long. (Flowers: Oct-Dec).

Between Dec to Jan – By division or from seed.
