Habitat & Site Selection:

Usually on sandy soils. Often on sandy ridges. 

Habit:

Tree to 20m high with spreading branches. Olive green to bluish-green leaves (flowers: Sep-Feb). Cones longer than wide when mature (25mm or more diameter) and may remain on tree for a number of years after maturing.

Seed Collection:

Late Dec to Apr. Sow fresh seed which takes 4-6 weeks to germinate. Hardy. Useful long-lived medium level cover in windbreaks. Good close-grained timber that is termite resistant.
