Many vegetation communities on a variety of soils. Rarely on heavy clay.
Habit:
Hairy small perennial. Leaves bunched, linear and covered in hairs. Fruit usually has three, spreading and hairy spines and is almost hidden under the many long hairs (Year Round).

Useful in preventing soil erosion and reclaims scalds. Good for grazing.
