Habit:

Perennial herbs to sub-shrubs with stellate hairs and yellow flowers (Sep-Nov).

Habitat & Site Selection:

Clay soils on floodplains. Species recommended: Corrugated Sida – most vegetation communities; Ridge Sida – mainly in Bimble Box and Grey Box communities; Pin Sida – mainly in Black Box, Myall and Saltbush communities; Twiggy Sida – often in Bladder Saltbush and Black Bluebush communities; High Sida – in open grassland, Mitchell Grass communities and Bladder Saltbush.

Seed Collection & Propagation:

Summer. Propagate from seed. Germination may be improved by hot water treatment. Seeds begin to germinate after 3-6 weeks.

Values & Uses:

A useful ground cover. Highly palatable and utilised by stock for fodder.
