Annual or biennial large forb. Thick, triangular bright green leaves have small glistening watery blisters. Has small and greenish flowers (Sep-Feb). Fast growing

Habitat & Site Selection:

Variable. Common in Bladder Saltbush and Bluebush communities. Loam soils.

Values & Uses:

Was eaten by First Nations peoples. The only Australian plant cultivated internationally as a vegetable and known as Warrigal Green. It is nutritious, tasty and can be served raw or cooked.
