Habitat & Site Selection:

Mallee communities in sandy soil. Well drained soils in dry situations. Tolerates frost. 

Habit:

Erect to spreading shrub 1.3-1.5m high. Bark smooth and grey. Branches spiny and hairy. Has golden yellow flowers (Jul – Jan).

Summer.

Propagation:

From seed or cuttings. Seed should be scarified or heat treated prior to sowing.

Can be used as a low windbreak.

Legume, improves soil fertility by fixing nitrogen. Fast Growing.

An attractive plant that could be used in gardens. Can be used as a screen due to its spiny habit.
