Occurrence:

Habitat & Site Selection:

Variable, Black Box, Belah-Rosewood, mallee and Callitris mixed woodland. Well drained light to heavy soil, with filtered light, partial or full sun.

Habit:

Erect to spreading shrub to 4m high. Branches can be hairy or hairless and leaves are broad linear and grey-green. Flowers cream to pale yellow from Sep-Dec.

Propagation:

From seed. Seed should be scarified or heat treated prior to sowing.

Regeneration:

In wet years can increase rapidly in numbers around watercourses and become a problem.

Legume, improves soil fertility by fixing nitrogen.

An attractive garden plant and low hedge.
