Habitat & Site Selection:

Widespread often in moist situations. Will establish on heavy clay. Prune after flowering to encourage bushiness.

Habit:

Low, straggly, perennial herb sometimes rooting at nodes. Small, whitish flowers, mostly spring to early summer (Sep – Dec), but also throughout the year.

Seed Collection:

All year, but particularly summer.

Propagation:

Seed or cuttings. Seed germinates readily using bog method. Cover the fine seed very lightly.

Land Protection:

Useful beside ponds. Palatable to stock but rarely occurs in sufficient bulk to provide more than variety in diet. Food source for butterflies and moths.
