Habitat & Site Selection:
Widespread in a variety of habitats on floodplains and the banks of rivers. Prefers wet areas.
Habit:
Tufted perennial grass to 1.2m high. Inflorescence a slender, erect panicle, with loosely arranged green spikelets and awns 12-22mm long. Attractive, graceful, weeping grass for wet areas such as dams, swamps or bog gardens. (Flowers: Oct-Jan).
Seed Collection:
Between Dec to Feb, by division or from seed. Responds well to cutting back after flowering each year. Not drought resistant. Coexists with A. macrorhinus.
