Myall and Black Box woodland, open grasslands and Saltbush communities. Often in low lying areas with grey or grey-brown compact heavy clay and scalded soils. Relatively well drained soils.

Habit:

Small, many branched annual 10-30cm tall. Has linear-lanceolate leaves and yellow flowers, (Nov-Jan). Attractive and suitable for gardens.

Seed Collection:

Jan to Feb. Monitor closely as seeds shed in 3-14 days. Surface sow seed or give a light cover of soil. Good results can be expected in 3-7 weeks. Also from cuttings or division. Considered a weed of crops. If bruised or damaged produces a strong aroma.
