Black Box and Callitris mixed woodland and riverine forests. Variety of soils.

Habit:

Tree approx. 15m high with many striated slender branches. Woody cones about 20cm long, longer than broad, with rows of prominent protruding valves. (Oct-Jan).

Seed Collection:

Jan to Dec. From root stock and seed. Tolerates salt and frost. May regenerate by suckering from roots. Useful for erosion control. Provides fodder in very bad years. Timber used for fencing and is excellent firewood.
