Habit:
Much-branched shrub to 3 m high. Leafless, flexible, furrowed branches. Leaves reduced to short, well-spaced scales. Brownishyellow pea-like flowers (Sep-Nov). Ovoid-oblong pod fruit to 2 mm long, drying black or brown.
Habitat & Site Preference:
Many woodland communities, usually on loamy or sandy loam red earths. Prefers 300 – 400 mm rainfall in the Riverina.
Seed Collection & Propagation:
Propagate from seed treated with near-boiling water and allowed to soak.
Values & Uses:
Flowers are bird and insect attracting; browsed by native herbivores.
